About Our Community Choir

Soundsational Community Music was established in 2010 by Tommy Chambers. Tommy is a music tutor and multi-instrumentalist who has always believed that music should be accessible for all walks of life. As such, the ethos of our organisation is to provide social inclusion and community cohesion meaning we are particularly focused on bringing music to people who would not normally have the encouragement or access to participate in music or the arts.

The organisation has continued to grow since nd as we approach our fifth year more and more gigs come in, and now our first album Common Ground is now available to buy online! Other recent highlights for SoundSational include:

  • Headlining the opening of the SSE Hydro.
  • Performimg at the annual CHAS Easter Bash.
  • A group of our juniors getting into the final of CBBC "Sport Relief Does Glee Club!"
  • Performing at the St. Andrew's Hospice 'Snowflake Ball' 2014 fundraiser.
  • Peforming at the 'See Me' rebranding.

We dedicate a portion of our time to helping various charities raise money by offering our choir services, an area which is very important to us. In our 5 years, we have helped to raise over £350,000 for these organisations.

I am fully supportive of the excellent work undertaken by Soundsational. Having such dedicated talented people giving up their time for a variety of projects is highly commendable. In particular, they are excellent role models for the children and young people they work with .SoundSational are great ambassadors for Coatbridge and the wider community.

  • I firmly believe in the transformational power of the arts and for me, SoundSational has harnessed this power and is using it to make our communities better.
